LEAD IN:
An American rabbi and Ukrainian refugees are helping to revive the population and Judaism in a small town in Calabria, southern Italy.
Antonio Abramo Aiello left his hometown of Serrastretta in 1923.
Now, his Rabbi daughter has returned to her father's birthplace on a mission to reverse the depopulation that so many Italian towns suffer from, and reconnect new residents with their Jewish roots.
