Manually loading and unloading large bearings all day is tedious and can cause injuries.
In this cell we used two ABB 6-axis robots to unload the bearings from the inbound conveyor and transfer them to various seal press and crimping stations.
Each robot is equipped with both a gripper for the bearings and vacuum cups for seals. Custom 3-stack magazines allow seals to be loaded without stopping the machine.
Seals are pre-pressed onto both sides of the bearings in the tamping presses and then transferred to the TOX press stations for final crimping.
Both sides of the bearings are sealed and crimped before exiting the system. The process can run continuously and can handle up to 32 different recipes with quick tool changes.
