Hello mushroom world. Join me in my #mushroom #foraging adventure in the English countryside. We might find some interesting edible and non-edible mushrooms. I will also show you what I do with the mushrooms like cooking or drying them.
Safe foraging and do your research. Thank You for Watching.
I started proper foraging this year. And this is the first time I found this type of mushroom. I was extremely happy. I initially thought this was an orange birch bolete but after reading and checking I found this is a different type. Leccinum can look similar however the orange birch bolete has light orange cap with dark grey sandy granules on its stem whilst the orange oak boletes its cap is more orange or chestnut coloured with brownish specs on its stem.
Leccinum is a genus of fungi in the family Boletaceae.
Leccinum aurantiacum:It has a large, characteristically red-capped fruiting body. In North America, it is sometimes referred to by the common name red-capped scaber stalk. Some uncertainties exist regarding the taxonomic classification of this species in Europe and North America. It is considered edible.
