Entrevista realizada en octubre de 2017 al cineasta Arturo Ripstein y Rosen (Ciudad de México, 13 de diciembre de 1944), director de cine mexicano, de origen judío, naturalizado español desde junio del 2003, autor de una extensa filmografía y ganador del Premio Nacional de Ciencias y Artes en el área de Bellas Artes en 1997, el segundo cineasta (el primero fue Luis Buñuel) que lo ha conseguido.
En esta entrevista, Ripstein habla de lo que opina del cine norteamericano y sus premios, su trabajo con Paz Alicia Garciadiego, Gabriel García Márquez, la dificultad de echar a andar un proyecto fílmico, la realización de su primera cinta teniendo a su padre como productor, lo que representó conocer a Luis Buñuel y por qué considera a Chano Urueta como su verdadero maestro, el uso de la cámara digital en cine y lo que las nuevas tecnologías han significado para el cine. También menciona su carrera interrumpida de derecho y la influencia de Hans Kelsen en su vida.
