(8 Dec 2021) Archaeologists revealed the "Mummy of Cajamarquilla," found at a dig site 25 km (15.5 miles) east of Lima on Tuesday.
The mummy is said to be belong to an 18-22 year-old man who died between 800 and 1,200 years ago.
Archaeologists discovered the mummy whose body is entirely bound by ropes, in a 3 meter long (10 ft.), 1.4 meter deep (4.5 ft) burial chamber.
The young archaeologist who made the discovery, Yomira Huaman Santillan who has her Bachelors degree if archeology, said she continues to find important items at the site.
The archaeological dig at Cajamarquilla is ongoing and experts believe there is more to be found on site.
