I'm getting the feel for what can be embossed and remembered the 3mm acrylic paint pens that I've been using over this past year and how the paint can remain wet for a few minutes so I wanted to try them on the aspen trees. The paint pens can give a shimmery type of look to the trees but the paint, when dry, can look more see through than when they're wet so I end up using a lot of paint dots to get the look I'm going after. But, after this test, the embossing powder seems to lock in the opacity of a wet looking dot of paint and I had to do far less paint applications to get what I'm going after so I'm sure I'll be using this technique in the future. Having those raised dots of color on the trees also adds physical and visual dimension as the dots catch the light and reflect it even more now.
