I had to break weakness order for a bit to ensure that I can obtain some necessary things later. And here we encounter our first Nightmare Effect. There are strange boxes further in that can only be destroyed or manipulated with Ground Dash. Otherwise, they're just in the way and not very important.
I take an alternate route through the stage for a heart, as well as a W-tank. Said route (the blue portal) also leads to certain bosses related to a side plot of the game. As this is the first, we'll be taking on Nightmare Zero. Defeating him will allow Zero to be playable, but keep in mind heart and weapon tanks aren't shared.
Nightmare Zero isn't a particularly difficult boss. If you can hit him with the Z-Saber while he isn't attacking, he'll be stunned and warp away to start his process again. Nevertheless, there's reason not to hit him whenever possible.
