More than 175 businesses and organisations gathered at Hylands House to explore the themes of grow, innovate, and connect. Councillor Tony Ball, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability, welcomed guests.
Paralympian and Essex business owner Danny Crates shared his inspiring Paralympic story and experience as an SME owner in Essex. He was joined by Bolaji Sofoluwe, Founder and MD of ETK Group, and Freddie Fforde, Founder of Patch. The Rt Hon. Justine Greening, former Secretary of State for Education and Chair of the Purpose Coalition, hosted a Q&A panel session and delivered the closing address.
Attendees enjoyed free workshop sessions and explored seven themed exhibition zones, including innovation, sustainability, food and drink, business support, skills and inclusive employment, and female-founded businesses. They sampled local handcrafted chocolate, discovered the power of robotics, and learned how to make inclusive employment work for them.
