Teherán was named the Opening Day starting pitcher for the 2018 season in March, and is the first Atlanta Braves pitcher to start five consecutive Opening Day games. Against the New York Mets on May 3, Teherán took a no-hitter through 6.2 innings until allowing a hit by Asdrubal Cabrera. Nevertheless, the Braves won 11–0.
