This is my personal experience of how I became a University Lecturer in the UK via a non traditional route and my top tips for anyone wanting to do the same. Often it is common to take a relatively academic route to lectureship, often requiring a PhD and many publications but I became a senior University Lecturer without a PhD due to my senior professional experience in the field and the specialist nature of my skill set for this post. I am sharing my personal experience and what I feel are my top tips that helped me to achieve my lectureship. My story is a blend of academic and professional practice in the field of healthcare and academia.
