Quick tips : Dark Circles
Under eye dark circles can be bothersome and make you look tired and dull! I’ve seen patients who have achieved wonderful skin that can go make up free, but only to cover their dark circles they are forced to use make up. P.S. this does not mean you have to cover your dark circles - if you can rock them and feel beautiful and confident that’s great!!🙌🏻 but for those who want to address them -
What needs to be done first is identifying the cause. Common causes / triggers include nutritional deficiencies, sleep deprivation, allergies, structural factors or they could simply be hereditary!
It’s best to visit a dermatologist to properly understand the cause. But in the mean time, here are some practices that can really help control / prevent / reduce your dark circles :
1. Hydrate hydrate hydrate
Just like I stress on hydration for skin health and glow, even the under eye skin needs to be well hydrated and moisturised in order to stay healthy and dark circle free. Hydrated skin is also less prone to irritation and allergies.
+ once you know hydration is taken care of, you could introduce skin lightening ingredients to the area to work on any damage / pigmentation that may have occurred to the skin under your eye making it appear darker.
2. Cut out allergens
Allergies are a lesser known but very common causes of under eye dark circles. Allergies lead to you rubbing your eye , causing the skin under the eye to get irritated, damaged and darker.
3. Fillers
When the cause is related to structure, meaning you have a hollow under your eye that doesn’t reflect light well therefore making the area look darker - fillers is literally an instant way of getting rid of the dark circle.
