CCSS.5.NF.A.1 Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators (including mixed numbers) by replacing given fractions with equivalent fractions in such a way as to produce an equivalent sum or difference of fractions with like denominators. For example, 2/3 + 5/4 = 8/12 + 15/12 = 23/12. (In general, 𝘢/𝘣 + 𝘤/𝘥 = (𝘢𝘥 + 𝘣𝘤)/𝘣𝘥.)
TEKS.6.2.D order a set of rational numbers arising from mathematical and real-world contexts; and
TEKS.5.3.H represent and solve addition and subtraction of fractions with unequal denominators referring to the same whole using objects and pictorial models and properties of operations;
TEKS.5.3.K add and subtract positive rational numbers fluently; and
IN.6.C.2 Compute with positive fractions and positive decimals fluently using a standard algorithmic approach.
IN.5.C.4 Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators, including mixed numbers.
VA.CE.4.5.b add and subtract fractions and mixed numbers having like and unlike denominators; and
VA.CE.5.6.a solve single-step and multistep practical problems involving addition and subtraction with fractions and mixed numbers; and
