Makkal Auto On line Auto meter android based Debit Credit card swiping launched a concept in Chennai
Taking the auto ride experience to the next level, an on-line auto meter system will be introduced in Chennai for the first time in India, along with a host of unique and novel features in an autorickshaw, Makkal Auto Chairman and social entrepreneur Mr.Mansoor Ali Khan said.
It would also be India's first on-line, computerised Auto Rickshaw -- By Women For Women.
Explaining the features of the On-line Auto meter, Mr.Mansoor said the auto meter is an android based tablet PC nicely enclosed in a steel casing which is water, tamper, and theft resistant.
This tablet PC will be fitted inside the Auto Rickshaw with a 90 degrees rotation
accessible by the driver as well as the passenger. The tamper-proof device acts as Fare calculator--it can even calculate complex fares like packages (1hr/10kms)--and was equipped with GPS Tracking, 3G data communication with a centralised call
center, Voice communication with the potential passenger/call center/police station, CCTV camera with voice system, Panic Button in case of emergency, Video
Entertainment while on the move.
What's more ! Passengers can also swipe their Credit/Debit cards to pay the fare,
which has been unheard of in India so far.
The tablet PC would also relay instant social messages on the screen (blood
requirements, missing people, traffic information etc), and has Google Map integration.
Bookings and customer details such as pickup address would also be received on the
screen.
