Should I recycle my smart phone?! Not unless you've done a full factory reset, that is for sure. I'd also recommend donating your phone to Cell Phones for Soldiers or to a local charity. There are low income struggling families that could use your old phone, don't give it to Bestbuy or Staples so they can make money on the scrap metal that inside it. This has been a public service announcement.
