If you're driving along the highways of Wyoming during the summer and notice the tall wooden fences randomly in the middle of nowhere, you're looking at a snow fence. While they may look strange in the summer, if you see one in the winter you immediately understand what it's for. Snow fences help keep our highways clear by controlling where snow drifts and they are a product of Wyoming based research.
