Today, Registered Dietitian Caroline Weeks discusses the medical nutrition therapy recommendations for patients diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).

◤Caroline's Bio◥

Caroline Weeks, RDN, LD currently works as a clinical pediatric dietitian in the areas of Cystic Fibrosis, Gastroenterology, and Endocrinology. She has two bachelor degrees from Iowa State University in Dietetics and Music Performance and in her spare time she plays as a professional violist in the Des Moines Symphony.

According to Caroline: "I love what a complement the dietitian can be to the interdisciplinary team. Not only does an RDN have a firm clinical knowledge of varying disease states, medications and drug-nutrient interactions, but we also have both a biochemical and practical knowledge of food and how it should be prepared. No matter if your child is in critical need or is growing and developing normally, balanced nutrition promotes healing and/or prevention of chronic disease."
