Adam: What's going on everybody Adam here with the trailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the glacier cable snow tire chains on our 2020 Ram 1500. So these are going to be a ladder pattern style chain. So they are going to be a little bit less comfortable whenever we're driving compared to some of those diamond pattern chains. Just because this way, obviously when we're rolling over, we're going to hit part of the tire and then hit the chains and then tire then chains. So that's just going to be a little bit more rough riding than those other style chains.
But when it comes to ladder pattern, these are going to be relatively smooth compared to the V-Bar style, the big twist link styles, or anything like that just because we aren't really adding a whole lot of height to our tire whenever we're rolling over.So hopefully we won't feel it too bad on the road. But we do have some spring rollers here, which is going to make that smooth ride possible, but it's also going to gain you guys a lot of traction for starting, stopping, and also your guys' turns. It does come in a pack of two. So for your two wheel drive applications, just go ahead and grab one. Both of them should come in a carrying case like this.
Pretty nice. Definitely an upgrade from some of those canvas bags that you guys may see. And also they're just going to fit in here real nice and you have a zipper. With those canvas bags you don't have a zipper and it's just kind of hard, you kind of have to bag it up on the top just to carry it around. This one has a handle as well.So I would definitely say this is better than the canvas bags.
So these chains definitely come with a better carrying case and of course, a smoother ride. These chains are made of a low carbon steel. So they are going to resist against rust and corrosion over time and they are going to wear away relatively smoothly. These compared to some of the other type of linked chains, these are able to roll. So they are going to be able to, whatever side is down onto whatever surface you guys are driving on, it is going to get plenty of rotation so we can wear these spring rollers out relatively evenly over time.
So these should last you guys a decent amount of seasons. One thing I like about it is we just have a cable running along our tire here and they don't get near my rims. I want to keep my rim's nice and clean and no scratches ideally. So these are definitely going to be able to do that and I would pretty much say that these would have a less likely chance of maybe coming down to hit your rims compared to some of those big linked chains. It's just a lot less metal, a little bit farther away from your rim. And these are also pretty easy to install. A decent amount of different adjustments to get that nice tight fit that we want. So let's just go ahead and go over that and show you guys how. First thing we want to do is lay out our chains. Make sure there's no twists or anything like that, but if we are good there, all we got to do is just go ahead and grab our chains and drape it over our tire like this.We want to make sure it's nice and even, as even as we can do. Then we can go ahead and make a connection around back. So we're going to take our one side here and then our other side. And I want to go ahead and use the third little notch there and this is going to be something you guys are only going to have to figure out the first time we install them just because every other time after that we're going to know which one fits the best. But for today, I'm going to go with that third one and then we can go ahead and go around the front and make another connection. And then around front here, all we're going to need to do is go ahead and find one of the links that's going to work. The last one here is working pretty well. And then we're going to go ahead and fold this back. And then on the end here, we're going to fit this portion of our cables here into that slot to kind of hold it into place. And then we're pretty much good. We do suggest that you guys grab some rubber adjusters to put on the chains. They are sold separately, but if you guys just scroll down on the page, it should be on the related products portion of the website and that'll help you find these. But all we really need to focus on is just make sure the hooks are going to be facing out away from our tire just so we don't puncture them. And we're going to do our very, very best to be as symmetrical as we can. And once we get all of these set into place, we do want to make sure and go in to the driver's side, roll over them a couple of
