He had just announced his candidacy for Changhua County Councilor and Council Speaker. However, ten days later, on his way back home, he was ambushed by ten masked gunmen. The mastermind behind the attack was Huang Zhuwang, who was 35 years old at the time. He was also a prominent figure in the underworld operating in the Changhua region. Despite his mild appearance, his criminal methods were exceedingly brutal and cruel. He was often compared to the notorious Lin Laifu, who topped the list of the ten most wanted criminals for gun-related offenses. Consequently, Huang Zhuwang earned the moniker "the Fearsome Ghost." Unlike Lin Laifu, Huang Zhuwang's older brother was a police officer, and they had a good relationship since childhood. However, why did his brother become a police officer while he turned into a notorious gangster?
For over four years, the police were unable to capture Huang Zhuwang, leaving them at a loss. Despite being a wanted criminal, he remained brazen, even openly supporting candidates in agricultural association elections. One day, his adversaries' supporters and Huang Zhuwang's henchmen crossed paths, and after a heated confrontation, Huang Zhuwang swiftly arrived at the scene. He immediately fired multiple shots upon arrival, even kidnapping an opponent's campaign manager. Throughout the night, he brutally tortured and buried the captive alive. Huang Zhuwang was detained in the Taichung Detention Center, along with another prisoner, Yang Hanpeng, who committed a robbery and murder. They were held together in cell No. 20 of Xiaoyi Hall. Being eloquent, Huang Zhuwang frequently engaged in conversations with the prison administrators. One day, he managed to escape with the help of a fellow inmate. Surprisingly, he successfully bypassed eight security checkpoints. How did he accomplish such a daring escape?
In the underworld, it's not uncommon to see influential figures having a woman silently following them. Huang Zhuwang was no exception. With his silver tongue, he even managed to woo the fifth runner-up in the Miss China pageant. Despite being a wanted criminal, she willingly accompanied him in his fugitive life. Even after Huang Zhuwang was captured and sentenced to many years in prison, she remained faithfully by his side.
Back in prison, Huang Zhuwang became devoutly religious and started to embrace Buddhism wholeheartedly. He always carried Buddhist prayer beads when attending court sessions, hoping that his sincere repentance might move the judge to grant him a second chance at life. However, even after multiple appeals and trials, the final verdict remained unchanged, and he was sentenced to death.
