So I came home from work this morning to find that the lower level of my hutch was open, and there were quail everywhere in my yard. I managed to get the majority of them, but I'm sure there are a few left out there.
I did manage to save one from the pool, and I have no idea how long it had been in there, but I see that Coturnix are NOT very good at getting themselves out of water once their wings are wet. Chasing quail around the neighborhood is NOT fun, folks - be sure to keep your birdos safe!
I wish I could have gotten footage of myself chasing these guys around, but that's not really possible when I have to hold my phone and catch quail at the same time.
