Rough footage shot on my still camera but I thought I'd share. This features Class 55 Deltic, Class 52 Western and Class 37 Syphon as well as the prototype Deltic and one of the prototypes of the Pacer units that we all admire so.
This is a re-edit of an earlier film. The first version was cut together on Movie-Maker which couldn't import the rushes directly so they had to be transcoded then couldn't handle them at their native resolution or frame-rate so it changed that too. Needless to say all this klarting about had a disastrous effect on picture quality which I didn't fully appreciate until I saw the final product next to the original footage.
In all fairness I have to say that the video mode on my still camera is nothing to get excited about but Movie-Maker still didn't do it justice. Now I have the trial version of Vegas Movie Studio for a few days so, partly to explore the software and partly to preserve the picture quality, I took another bash at this. The difference may be less apparent on YouTube but I hope there is some improvement.
Apologies but a re-edit can do nothing for the camera-work.
