The day has finally arrived that the game can't be continue forwards from 1-1
That being said, the game still has A LOT of bugs to iron out. It's such a shame that Namco System 23 is such an obscure work environment that it doesn't see a lot of work, that being said I'd still want to thank everyone who has worked on it to make this work!
This isn't a full list of bugs but some I have noticed on my multiple playthroughs.
-The game seems to be running 80% or 90% speed of intended
-The sound stutters constantly, making some of the cutscenes pretty funny
-All the text that scrolls seems to have layering issues
-Floor textures for all the stages have some layering issues which causes them to warp constantly
-The health icons and bullets don't render properly. Only half-visible.
-Weird blue box flashes on screen on Stage 2-2
There are many more, but these are the biggest ones that come to my mind whilst writing.
When you're playing the game especially on 1-2, you can totally forget all the bugs the emulation has, because Time Crisis never is boring!
I know many just regard the MAME version of the game and straight go to the PS2 port. But I have always found the arcade version extremely fascinating. I grew up playing only the PS2 version, but somehow I have always loved the graphical style between PS1 and PS2, That Dreamcast era especially. Many have only experienced the game in it's arcade counterpart, and I think it's an important thing to be able to re-experience.
