One of the most fascinating discoveries of the 19th century was Hezekiah’s Tunnel. This was a water channel chiseled by Judean King Hezekiah at the end of the 8th Century BC. It is 1,720 feet long and was used to channel water from the Gihon Spring to inside the city at the SW corner of Jerusalem. We walk through the tunnel today with flashlights and water shoes.
