Johannes Brahms: Piano sonata no.3 in F minor, op.5: I. Allegro maestoso.
I was pretty in love with this composition as I was still a student at the Dresden conservatory "Carl Maria von Weber". My teacher, German pianist Peter Rösel, had made a recording of Brahms' complete works for piano in the 1970s, and I was then quite impressed by his approach. It was him who encouraged me to take up this sonata, and I often performed it in concerts between 2005 and 2010. A magnificent composition of the young Brahms!
