Only thing I hate about methi ki sabzi is cleaning it. It is super labor intensive, takes longer to clean than to cook!
But for the delicious taste, it’s all worth ❤
Ingredients I used:
- 3 big bunches of methi leaves
- 2 to 3 tablespoon chana dal ( I prefer little more as shown in the video, you can customise as per your taste) + water for soaking
- 2 to 3 green chillies, slit
- 5 to 6 large garlic cloves, smashed
- 1 medium sized onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup grated coconut (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon oil
Procedure:
- Clean the methi leaves along with some tender stems thoroughly
- Soak chana dal in water for 10-15 mins, or longer if time permits
- Heat oil and add green chillies, garlic – saute for 2 mins before adding soaked chana dal. Cover it till chana dal is cooked al dente (around 80% cooked).
- Add chopped onions, saute till they turn golden brown.
- Add methi, saute and cover it till it wilts. Chana dal should also cook thoroughly by this point.
- Garnish with lots of grated coconut.
Enjoy with rotis or dal rice.
