In this video we will show you the best viewpoints and trails in the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Grand Canyon is one of the most visited National park in the United States. The south rim is the most popular area of the park. South rim includes the historic Grand Canyon Village, Scenic Hermit Road and the Hermit Rest, Desert View Drive and the Desert View. Grand Canyon is open for visitors now.

The Grand Canyon village has many eating options such as Bright Angel Bicycle Rental and Café ,Canyon Village Market "General Store" ,Delicatessen at the Marketplace, Yavapai Lodge Tavern ,Yavapai Lodge Coffee Shop,El Tovar Dining Room, El Tovar Food Truck,Bright Angel Fountain,Canyon Coffee House, Maswik Food Court and Pizza Pub .
Various trails such as South Kaibab Trail and the Bright Angel Trail are popular in the south rim for hiking. Ooh Aah Point is a popular viewpoint present on the south Kaibab trailhead.
The hermit road is closed to private vehicles between March 1 and November 30 and can only be accessed by the shuttle. There are various overlooks which can be accessed by a shuttle or on foot. Popular overlooks and points include Trail view overlook, Maricopa point, Powell point, Hopi point and Mohave point (popular for watching sunset and sunrise ) , The Abyss , Monument Creek Vista,Pima point and the Hermits Rest. Hermits rest had a gift shop and a snack bar. Also restrooms are available here. The hermit trail begins from here as well.
Desert view is a scenic drive which begins near the Grand Canyon Village. It connects to the east entrance of the Grand Canyon National park and can be accessed by a car. Popular points and overlooks include Pipe Creek Vista, Duck on a rock ,Grand Viewpoint , Moran point , Lipan point , Navajo point and the Desert View. The Desert view has a visitor center , trading post , a snack bar and the historic desert view watch tower.
The south rim has a good option of lodging facilities such as the Mather Campground, Trailer Village RV Park, Desert View Campground. There are various glamping options available near Grand Canyon. We stayed at wander camp grand canyon. The Grand Canyon region is an International Dark Sky because of low light pollution and is a good place for stargazing and astrophotography.
