The ride starts from Colle del Ghisallo, part of the Italian comune Magreglio, on the mountains near Lake Como. Ghisallo is famous for being a pass often part of the Giro d'Italia. Here there is a sanctuary of the Madonna del Ghisallo, universal patron saint of cyclists and, next to the sanctuary, you can find the Cycling Museum and the "Monument to the cyclist".
Going down on the SP 41 road towards Bellagio you arrive in Civenna, a small tourist town where you can enjoy a wonderful view over the eastern branch of Lake Como. Here there is also a memorial for motorcyclists near the Bellavista park.
Continuing the descent to Bellagio there are several panoramic points on the central part of the lake where the 3 branches of the famous Lake Como converge.
