Calling it a major and first-of-its-kind decision, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on June 23 in Delhi said that India and US bilaterally squared off 6 big WTO disputes during the meeting held between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden. “A major decision has been taken in relation to the Commerce sector. 6 WTO disputes have been resolved on dialogues basis. Something like this has never happened before between 2 major economies. We have bilaterally squared off 6 big WTO disputes,” Piyush Goyal said. PM’s US visit is currently being hailed over the meeting potential in strengthening US-India ties.
