IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati has said that the resignation of three of the commissioners stands and that the commission will not allow them back to serve. This comes three days after two of the commissioners, namely Margaret Mwachanya and Connie Maina, reported to work citing a high court ruling that said their resignation did not follow the due process and that they are by law still considered commissioners of the electoral and boundaries commission. Paul Kurgat the third commissioner who had resigned alongside Mwachanya and Maina is yet to report to the commission. Chebukati says that the commission will expect the president to name new appointees to replace the three.
