Good afternoon, everyone and welcome to another edition of the Android News Byte.
Today, I wanted to highlight a new leak that seemingly confirms most of the details about the upcoming Pixel 9a smartphone from Google.
This includes the hardware specs, dimensions, weight, color options, and even launch price for the device.


Pixel 9a Dimensions
We are now expecting the new Pixel 9a smartphone slightly taller and wider than the Pixel 8a, however, it will also be a tad bit lighter as well.

The dimensions are said to be 154.7mm x 73.3mm x 8.9mm, and weigh in at just under 190 grams.
Sadly, that seems to be just enough of a change that the phone will not be compatible with the previous generation of cases. . .but the change will likely not be enough for you to notice a difference.


Pixel 9a Hardware Specs
As far as the Pixel 9a specs are concerned, we're looking at the Google Tensor G4 chipset to be used in this phone, and that will be protected by the Titan M2 security chip as well. It will have 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM, UFS 3.1 storage of 128GB or 256GB. . .depending on which variant you buy, and it will have a 6.285" panel that is being described as a Actua Display.

So we're looking at a peak brightness of 2700 nits and HDR brightness of 1800 nits.

This display will be protected with Gorilla Glass 3, so it isn't the latest and greatest when it comes to glass protection.

Inside, the phone will be powered by a 5,100 mAh capacity battery, which is about 13% larger than its predecessor.
and charging speeds are said to be at 23W for wired and 7.5W for wireless.
No support for Qi2 here.

The camera setup seems mostly the same. . .so it will have a 48MP GN8 Quad dual pixel primary camera sensor with an aperture of f/1.7
And that will eb paired with a Sony IMX712 ultrawide sensor.

While on the front, we're looking at a 13MP sensor with an aperture of f/2.2
The Google Pixel 9a will be IP68 certified for both water-resistance and dust-resistance, just like we have seen with previous Google pixel hardware.


Pixel 9a pricing & colors
This leak has said we should expect to see the Google Pixel 9a available in 4 different colors, including Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, and Peony. . .which are the same colors we saw the Pixel 9 launch with.

and pricing for this phone will start out at $499 for the 128GB model. . .but you can expect the Verizon mmWave model to be priced $50 higher for the added technology
