I'm not a rum critic but I enjoy excellent food and excellent drinks. Appleton Rum is the most well-crafted rum on the planet in my opinion. I always pick up a few bottles, when I pass through Jamaica. The bouquet is brilliant! It smells like a field of bananas in heaven! The taste is equally-excellent! It is a mix of banana notes, copper and other greatness! I have never tasted a more excellent brand of rum anywhere on the planet! If you know of a better rum, please let me know and I'll drive/fly/hop in a boat to get it! So far I've been fortunate enough to purchase Appleton VX, Appleton Reserve and Appleton Extra, while in Jamaica. Appleton Reserve is my favorite from a cost and quality perspective. It is literally a tropical vacation for one's mouth!
