As one of the leading voices at CNN, Sanchez has reported for the network as a national reporter, White House correspondent and co-anchor of “New Day Weekend.” He led the coverage of the 2023 “Oceangate” submarine implosion, Supreme Court rulings on affirmative action, LGBTQI+ rights and the Pulse nightclub shootings. Following Sanchez’s coverage of the 2016 riots in Charlotte, North Carolina, CNN won an Edward R. Murrow Award for his leadership. Sanchez graduated from Syracuse University in 2009 with bachelor’s degrees in broadcast journalism and international relations.
