Happy Nowruz to the World!!!!! Welcome to the Persian New Year!!!
Wishing everyone a happy, joyous Nowruz (Persian New Year)!!! I hope you all have a wonderful start to the Spring filled with love, happiness, and health!!!
Nowruz, which translates to “New Day”, has been celebrated for over 3,000 years. Celebrated on the Spring Equinox, Nowruz marks the beginning of Spring!
The tradition has its roots in Zoroastrianism, an early religion of the Persian people. It is now celebrated by diverse people across the world, especially in the Middle East and Asia.
There are many ways to make say “Happy New Year” on this day. Traditionally the terms: “Nowruz Piruz”, “Nowruz Khojasteh Baad”, and “Sol-e Now Khojasteh Baad” were used. After the first Persian Empire, Arabic culture and language influenced the Persian Nowruz greetings, and the following terms are now commonly used: “Nowruz Mubarak” and “Sol-e Now Mubarak”.
No matter how you say it or how you celebrate, I wish you all a wonderful Nowruz! If you know any Persians, make sure you wish them a Happy New Year tonight!!!
