Developing from John Ruskin's comment on the appeal of illuminated medieval manuscripts as "interesting as art", Dr Sandra Hindman presents an overview of manuscript illumination by great painters such as Simon Bening and the Master B.F., and how the often perfect condition of these surviving medieval miniatures allows them to be just as greatly admired today.
