This is my basic review of the E-Flight Opterra Flying Wing.
I have installed a PixHawk (clone) autopilot and put on reverse thrust. The aircraft also has a Lidar for accurate auto landings later on.
Over all the plane is quite easy to fly however I think it is underpowered. I am probably ruined by my combat wings however it does need some more power to make take-offs a little less exciting and to climb a bit.
The reverse thrust allow me to land in something less than an aircraft carrier size field as the plane floats and floats and floats a bit more. A big burst of reverse brings it down quickly and very softly as the plane just mushes down.
Getting the motor out is a real bitch as I had to replace the ESC with my Multistar reversible one however I need to put in a 3536 NTM to at least get some climb.
I am using two Multistar 4000mAh batteries and I have taken out all the weight that was glued in as I would rather carry batteries than weight every time.
I am aiming for about an hour's duration and will put in FPVPower LiOn batteries with 10500mAh in a 4S configuration.
