Skiathos vs. St. Maarten - two of the most well known beach airports in the world. Today I decided to compare my two favorite airports. Although Maho Beach used to have bigger planes, Skiathos was also a fantastic airport because of the lovely greece landscape.
Sadly the Boeing 747 left Sint Maarten a few years ago because KLM decided to use the Airbus A330-200 instead. For every planespotter it was one of the main goals to see a 747 land at SXM someday. I am pretty sure we will visit SXM again someday.
The biggest plane which is allowed to land at Skiathos is a Boeing 757. Sadly no 747`s or A340` s are able to land there because of the runway length.
