In my first door-to-door sales job, I completely missed out on a sale because I didn’t understand what the customer was saying. Instead of asking a clarifying question, I walked away thinking “zilch” was a brand!
The lesson here?
Slow down and ask the tough questions. If something isn’t clear, ask for an explanation. Once your customer starts talking, you’re already halfway to closing the deal.
Clarity leads to better conversations, and better conversations lead to sales.
