LOCATION: 4th St and Palm Ave

INCIDENT DETAILS:

A male driver was making a left-hand turn from westbound Palm Ave to southbound 4th St.
As he was about to enter the crosswalk, a woman in her 40’s rode her bicycle into the crosswalk heading eastbound from the sidewalk. She was accompanied by her husband and a female friend who were also riding their bikes.
The car and cyclist collided sending the cyclist up onto the hood of the car and into the windshield smashing it.
The driver stopped and 911 was called.
The woman has suffered major head trauma and other internal injuries. She was transported to UCSD Hospital.
The SDSO Traffic Div is investigating.
