This time we went to the beautiful island of Madeira.
Madeira, officially the Autonomous Region of Madeira, is one of two autonomous regions of Portugal, the other being the Azores. It is an archipelago situated in the North Atlantic Ocean, just under 400km to the north of the Canary Islands and 520 km west of the Kingdom of Morocco.
The capital of Madeira is Funchal, which is located on the main island's south coast. Madeira generally has a very mild and moderate subtropical climate and for that is called “the island of eternal springtime”.
This region is known for its wine, stunning views, flora and fauna, with its pre-historic laurel forest classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
