In part 2 here I run through a full flush. Never had to flush out a new radiator of contamination before. Probably poor qa these days.

I disconnect the bottom radiator hose, open the expansion tank, start the car and keep adding water from a garden hose to the expansion tank. At some point I also disconnected the upper radiator hose and run a garden hose through it to get contamination out.

Then I also drain and flush the block. Right above the VANOS accumulator there is a 13mm block plug. It has an aluminum crush washer you need to replace. Make sure you don't burn yourself draining the block. I run the garden hose through the expansion tank to get everything out of the block.

After everything is flushed with the garden hose, I run enough distilled water to flush out tap water. Then add BMW coolant (remember this is concentrated). The whole system takes about 10 quarts. so pick your favorite % mix. I normally run 70-80% water and rest coolant.
