We stayed at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place for three nights during our short trip to Chicago. Our visit coincided with a large ACE Hardware convention at the adjacent McCormick Place convention center, making the hotel quite busy.
Our room was a suite on the 32nd floor, offering a stunning view of Lake Michigan. The hotel met the typical Hyatt Regency standards—nothing exceptional but certainly not below par. The staff were excellent, demonstrating professionalism and experience throughout our stay. We appreciated the daily complimentary bottled water, and they promptly provided slippers and toothpaste upon request. The hotel itself is clean and modern.
The breakfast buffet was enjoyable, priced at $28 per person. While the location isn’t ideal for exploring downtown, bus #3 conveniently stops right in front of the convention center and takes about 30 minutes to reach the city center.
Overall, we were quite satisfied with our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn’t mind spending about 60 minutes commuting each day, especially if you’re not attending a convention.
