- My name is Margaret Manning, and I'm a digital entrepreneur. The pandemic hit, and I read this amazing article about Barbados's crazy idea to offer a digital nomad visa, now called the Welcome Stamp. And quite frankly, for me, it was an absolute, total no-brainer. It came at a perfect time in my career. I was looking for new opportunities, new ideas, new innovations. And it struck me that because of the Welcome Stamp, Barbados would be filled with like-minded individuals, innovators, entrepreneurs, with a lot of ideas, a melting pot of ideas. Came over here, and found that's exactly what we've got. I've been in Barbados now for six months, and I have met so many interesting people, of many, many, many different nationalities. And actually my surprise was also across all age groups. There are people from 18 to not quite 80, but it's getting on that way, and people from all walks of life, people who are owning their own businesses, people who've never ever run a business. And that's what has been fantastic, seeing those people that have come here, and have changed their life story because of what they've found here. So the people that I've met here have actually found an enormous range of things. They've found obviously fantastic weather, they've found great fun, but they've also found inspiration. They're finding inspiration from each other. They're learning from each other. And so I came here looking for inspiration, and I found inspiration. The Welcome Stamp as a 12-month program was extremely interesting, but what it has definitely done is it's morphed the idea of what tourism is, what tourism could be, and what tourism should be in the future. The change in the way that we work actually meets the change in the way that we want to undertake leisure. So those two things together are creating a hugely interesting pivotal point for tourism. And you're seeing many different ideas coming out from a lotta different people, from the concept of co-working spaces for the long-term stay people, the digital nomad concept for, a lot of digital nomads are actually freelancers. But now you see bankers coming away for six months. It's not just the freelancers. It's moved from techs to creatives, to consultants and to bankers. So it's a very wide spectrum of people that are actually taking advantage of a new way of working, but also very importantly, a new way of leisure. If anyone's thinking about coming to a place like Barbados on a visa like the Welcome Stamp visa, I am going to give you a quote that I was just given. This is an incredibly welcoming place. The community looks after newcomers. You're immediately brought into a community of very, very like-minded people. It is an incredible experience. Barbados not only has the Welcome Stamp. It also has the infrastructure around the Welcome Stamp...
