This Harvard Medical School Continuing Education video examines these key questions: How are adverse pregnancy outcomes linked to cardiovascular disease? Does pregnancy history play a role in preventative cardiovascular care for women?
Dr. Michael Honigberg, MD, a cardiologist at Massachusetts General Hospital, reviews adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs) and their association with chronic hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, aortic stenosis and mitrial regurgitation. Guidelines for preventive cardiovascular care for women with APOs are identified.
This video was peer reviewed by Dr. Jonathan Salik, TMD, MHPEd, Instructor of Medicine, Massachusetts General Hospital; and Dr. Sugantha Sundar, MD, Assistant Professor of Anesthesia, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, to validate the quality and accuracy of the content.
