In audio, phase refers to the timing of sound waves.
When two sound waves are in phase, their peaks and valleys line up, making the sound louder.
When two sound waves are out of phase, their peaks and valleys don't line up, and the sound can become quieter or cancel out completely.
Think of it like jumping on a trampoline with a friend.
If you both jump at the same time (in phase), you'll go higher.
But if one of you jumps when the other is coming down (out of phase), you'll cancel each other out.
