CBI Special Director Ajay Bhatnagar, accompanied by a team of officials, landed in Manipur on a special flight on September 27 to investigate the suspected murder of two students by armed men. Chief Minister Biren Singh expressed sadness over the incident while mentioning that peace is gradually returning to the conflict-affected state. He also disclosed having a telephonic conversation with Union Home Minister Amit Shah during this critical period.
