Double Displacement Reaction:-
A double displacement reaction, also known as a double replacement reaction or metathesis, is a type of chemical reaction where two compounds react, and the positive ions (cation) and the negative ions (anion) of the two reactants switch places, forming two new compounds or products. The overall pattern of a double replacement reaction looks like this: A B + C D → A D + C B. The solvent for a double replacement reaction is usually water, and the reactants and products are usually ionic compounds but they can also be acids or bases.
This video explains a double displacement reaction between sodium sulphate and barium chloride solutions.
