My whole life as a kid, I wanted to live in Ballard! As crazy as that sounds, Ballard was everything a city should be! I remember watching a sketch comedy show in the '90s called "Almost Live!' and they were AMAZING - they made fun of every part of Seattle - but the "COPS - in Ballard" Sketch stands out as an absolute GEM!

Plus in the '90s Ballard had an all-time music scene! The Tractor Tavern and the Ballard Firehouse were legendary (The tractor tavern still has shows, but the Ballard firehouse is on to other things now).
