Join George and John as they discuss and debate different Philosophical ideas, today they will be looking into the Euthyphro Dilemma.
Divine Command Theory is the idea that morality comes from God. What is morality right is that which God commands and what is morally wrong is that which God forbids. However a big problem arises within Divine Command Theory and that is the Euthyphro Dilemma. Two questions are asked which lead the Divine Command Theorist into a severe problem:
Is that which is morally good considered good because God commands it?
Or…
Does God command it because it is morally good?
Watch the discussion to find out why this is such a major problem for Diving Command Theory.
