If the cops are getting mad at you for recording them, you can remind them that this activity is protected under the 1st Amendment. However, if you plan on doing this, be sure you know your state's laws like the back of your hand. Each state has different rules about recording the police. DON'T get in trouble because you don't know your state's laws.
