After the decision by the Supreme Court overturned the federally guaranteed right to an abortion nationally, individual states will now decide whether or not the procedure will be legal inside their borders.
Idaho is one of several states that has what's known as a trigger law in place. The state will automatically ban abortion if the Supreme Court ever overturned its controversial decision in Roe v. Wade.
Idaho's ban on abortions takes effect 30 days after the court's issue of judgment is filed, which is expected to be in late July.
On Friday, Idaho's federal, state, and local leaders reacted to the court's decision.
