Overhead Triceps Stretch
Benefits of stretch:
Triceps stretches are arm stretches that work the large muscles at the back of the upper arms. The muscles in the upper arms are used to stabilize the shoulder and elbow extension. This stretch helps to increase range of motion, improve flexibility and lengthen muscles. Doing this stretch can also help to boost circulation, loosen connective tissue and prevent tight muscles.
How to do the stretch:
- Lift your shoulders up toward your ears and then draw them down and back.
- Extend your right arm to the ceiling, then bend at the elbow to bring the right palm toward the center of your back, resting your fingers along your spine.
- Use your left hand to gently push your elbow in toward the center and down.
- Hold this stretch for 30 seconds and 3 repetitions on each side.
